Among other results of the first round, overcame that instance, the Italian Flavia Pennetta, seeded 11, before the Australian Jelena Dokic 6-2, 6-2 and Estonian Kaia Kanepi, planted 12 to beat Australia's Jelena Dokic for 6 - 2, 6-2.
