The top seed of the China Open, Serbian Novak Djokovic, qualified for the quarterfinals by the absence of his rival, the American Mardy Fish, while Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki is ranked the victory of world number one ranking after beat Italy's Sara Errani.

Djokovic moved into the next round without playing because Mardy Fish, injured his left ankle, could not play the game.

In the next phase, Zvoraneva will face Italian Francesca Schiavone, fifth seed, who eliminated Vera Dushevina of Russia 4-6, 6-3, 6-1.
Shahar Peer of Israel agreed to the quarterfinals by winning without difficulty to the Romanian Alexandra Dulgheru 6-1, 6-2.
