Serbian Ana Ivanovic, former world number one, continuing without lifting his head and was knocked out in first round of tennis tournament in Tokyo by Czech Lucie Safarova 6-4, 7-6 (1).

Injuries, fatigue and coaching changes have dented that remains Ivanovic recover after being knocked out in second round tournament in Toronto and Cincinnati and the first chance at the U.S. Open and Tokyo.

Ivanovic, seeded number 10 in the Japanese tournament, had stated its intention to take a short break after the U.S. Open to try to regain his best tennis, which obviously seems to have found yet.
